Performing Arts

Throughout Term 3, students from Prep to Grade 6 have been developing their performance skills and preparing for our exciting term 4 Arts Show, based on the theme 'iconic'. 

Students in Grades 1 to 6 began by exploring what makes something iconic, researching famous moments, music, movies, people, places, and cultural events from around the world. Each class then selected an iconic topic to inspire their performance. Since choosing their topics, students have been collaborating to plan and create their performances, developing ideas through dance, drama, and music.

As part of this process, students have been building a range of performance skills, including choreography, movement to music, storytelling, expression, teamwork, stage presence, and audience engagement. They have embraced the creative process by contributing ideas, rehearsing regularly, and refining their performances to bring their chosen iconic topics to life.

Our Prep students have also been exploring movement, music, imagination, and performance skills through engaging classroom activities, building confidence and creativity as they prepare to participate in the Arts Show for the first time!

All students will begin creating their costumes for the Arts Show next term in Visual Art.

We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication students have shown throughout the term and look forward to sharing their hard work with families and the wider school community at the Arts Show in term 4.
