Springvale Rise Nominated for Kidsafe Community Award!

We’re very excited to share that Springvale Rise Primary School was nominated for the prestigious Kidsafe Victoria Community Award! This nomination is a wonderful recognition of our strong and ongoing commitment to child safety and injury prevention—and we couldn’t be prouder.

On Friday, 20 June, Community Hub Leader Mrs. Julie Raciti, Community Hub Liaison Mrs. Jumabi Ali, and myself proudly represented our school at the elegant Kidsafe Victoria Charity Gala Ball, held at the stunning Plaza Ballroom. Themed “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow,” the evening was a powerful celebration of the work being done across Victoria to keep children safe.

We were recognised for working tirelessly to create opportunities for our community—particularly our families from diverse cultural backgrounds—to come together, access vital resources, and learn more about injury prevention. This nomination is a wonderful acknowledgement of the strength of our community partnerships, the work of our Community Hub, and the inclusive and collaborative approach that sits at the heart of everything we do.

A special shout out to the amazing Julie Raciti, Jumabi Ali, and their team of volunteers for all the inspiring work they make happen in our Springvale Rise Primary School Community Hub.

We would also like to thank Mr and Mrs Ha, Mr Richard Lim, Maria Tsopanis, and Jana Hovic from AMES, and our friends Dr Linny Phuong and Julie Hjorth from the Waterwell Project for joining us on the night and celebrating this special recognition.

I hope you all enjoy a lovely holiday break and find some time to do something special with your family and friends. With what’s shaping up to be a great snow season, perhaps a trip to the snowfields might be on the cards for a few of you—or maybe even some of our staff! Whatever you choose to do, I hope it brings you joy, laughter, and a well-deserved chance to unwind and have some fun.

Keep smiling,

Debbie Cottier
