Highlights from Heights

As we approach the end of term, it’s wonderful to see that students are continuing to work hard and engage positively in their learning. Our dedicated teachers are maintaining high expectations, ensuring that classroom routines remain consistent and focused right through to the final day of term.

Across our school students are confidently following well-established routines that help create a calm and productive learning environment. An example of this can be seen by observing the different formations and seating arrangements that students adopt throughout the day, these include:

 - sitting in a circle for class discussions or Circle Time,

-gathering on the floor in teaching lines for explicit instruction;

-observing and learning by watching the teacher demonstrate (this is called the Fishbowl method.)

-and working closely in small groups with the teacher.

These structures help students know what to expect and support them to stay engaged in their learning.

When your child gets home, ask them which seating style they enjoy most and which helps them learn best—it’s a great way to start a conversation about their learning.
