Catholic Identity

Creator God, we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, as we walk together on your path of love, hope and faith.
Thank you for the gifts of our school,
our environment, our families and friends.
May our school be a place of learning, care, welcome and celebration.
Mary our Mother, pray for us.
St Mary of the Cross, pray for us.
Amen
Our theme for this year is “Seek Peace and Pursue It.” As we reflect on the many events unfolding across our world, we are reminded how blessed we are to live in a community where we experience a sense of peace and safety. At the same time, this invites us to think of others who may not share that same experience and to respond with compassion, prayer and care.
As a faith community, we are called not only to receive peace, but to actively bring peace to others through our words, actions and relationships. The example of St Francis of Assisi reminds us that peace begins in the small, everyday choices we make — showing kindness, offering forgiveness and caring for those around us. I encourage families to take a moment together to reflect on his well-known prayer, asking that it may be heard and bring comfort to those most in need of peace.
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
St Francis of Assisi
We warmly invite all families and parishioners to join us for our first Whole School Mass on Friday 20 February at 12:30 pm, followed by a Welcome BBQ back at the school.
Each class will have students participating in meaningful roles within the Mass, helping to lead us in prayer and celebration.
We look forward to your company as we gather in faith and community.
