F/1/2 CLASSROOM

It has been a joy to see the F/1/2 class settle so well into their first three weeks of learning. Students are already showing wonderful habits by coming to school ready to learn each day and are steadily building their independence and stamina.
A highlight has been how quickly students have engaged with a full week of learning and routines that will support a successful year ahead. We are very grateful for the fantastic start Mrs Murray has given the students, and we warmly welcome Miss Talbot into her new teaching role.
In Inquiry, students have been exploring Chemical Science by investigating materials that are either made by humans or found naturally. This hands-on learning encourages curiosity, questioning and discovery.
In Mathematics, Foundation students have been exploring repeating patterns — two-part and three-part — through movement, objects and colouring activities. Our Grade 1/2 students have been learning to transfer data from tally marks to picture graphs, with plenty of opportunities for discussion, hands-on activities and games to strengthen their understanding.
In Religion, students have continued to deepen their understanding of prayer as a reverent and reflective time. They are learning a variety of prayers that give thanks for the blessings around them in nature, at school, in our community and at home.
Each day is a busy one in F/1/2, and I am very proud of how well the students have settled into both new and familiar routines as they grow into confident and successful learners.
Miss Talbot
