Chasing Dreams and Taking the Stage

On 28 August, one of our talented students stepped outside the school grounds and onto the stage in Footscray, performing with a band in what was an exciting and memorable musical experience.

While the nerves were certainly there backstage, the student embraced the moment and encouraged their fellow performers to do the same:

“When I was backstage, I was very nervous. I told everyone to be confident, just be yourself, and this is our moment to shine.”

The band performed three songs "Sway, Hey Joe and Sk8er Boi", creating an incredible opportunity to perform live, work as part of a band and share their passion for music with an audience.

For our student, the experience was about more than simply performing. It was about having the courage to pursue a passion, step outside their comfort zone and make the most of an opportunity.

Their message to fellow students and the wider BSC community is one we can all take inspiration from:

"If you have a dream, go and chase it. Never give up on your dream. With persistence, dedication and a belief in yourself, you can achieve it one day".
