Wear it Purple Day

On 25 August, Fitzroy High School celebrated Wear It Purple Day, promoting inclusion, acceptance and support for LGBTQIA+ young people.

At lunchtime, students brought plenty of colour and energy to our Purple Disco, dancing along to LGBTQIA+ artists and disco classics, doing crafts, enjoying fairy bread and getting involved in some very competitive balloon games! It was a fantastic chance for students to hang out with friends, have some fun and show their support for the LGBTQIA+ community.

In Advisory, students also explored the stories, achievements and contributions of LGBTQIA+ Australians, learning about the people who have helped shape our communities and create positive change.

It was wonderful to see our students come together, celebrate diversity and create a school community where everyone feels welcome, valued and supported.
