R U OK? Day

Sometimes, a simple “Are you okay?” can make a big difference. On the 8th of September, Fitzroy High School came together for R U OK? Day, focusing on the importance of checking in with friends, classmates and members of our wider community.

School Captain Jamie S delivered an engaging whole school assembly, encouraging students to ask meaningful questions, listen to others and recognise when someone might need support. The presentation was a great reminder that looking out for each other is something we can all do.

Students then had the opportunity to spend time with their friends and enjoy a range of activities, including live music, sport, arts and crafts. The relaxed and positive atmosphere encouraged students to connect, have fun and enjoy time together as a school community.

Thank you to all the students and staff who wore yellow to show their support for R U OK? Day. A special thank you to Jamie for your amazing presentation and for sharing such an important message with our school community. We also appreciate all the staff and students who helped make the day such a positive celebration of connection, kindness and looking out for one another.
