Circus Skills

As of this week every student in the school will partake in our PE Circus incursion that will run for 3 consecutive weeks in our PE classes.

Students will experience an assortment of fun activities using circus equipment like- juggling scarves, juggling balls, diablo, spinning plates, poi, hula hoops, stilts and much more….

Here are some fun pictures of some year 4s and year 2s enjoying the first session of circus.

District Cross Country

What a day! This year the Cross-country event was held at Dendy Park and with a team of 60 BNPS students we enjoyed the perfect XC conditions.

Every student completed the required circuit and gained points for our team. We finished a respectable fourth place in this year’s event with some great individual performances. If you finish in the top 10 of your age group, you proceed to the next level and the following students managed to do that-

It was a great day.  We were expecting some rain but luckily it held off. The overall scores were Hampton first, Sandringham coming in second, then Beaumaris in third, Beaumaris North in fourth, then Black Rock, Brighton beach in 6th and Brighton came last. The people that are going through to division are Maya, Harper and Nora from year four, Flynn and Maxon from year five, Sophie, Lexi, Ben, Max and Harry from year six. Division Cross Country @ Cornish College

Well done to all our 10 competitors today who all ran their hardest to complete the distance.

2km for our 10-year-olds and 3km for our 11/12-year-olds. A little bit more like true Cross-country conditions today with cold hands and feet, lots of warm jackets and some hot food on offer.

The actual course was in good condition with potholes, gravel paths, grass running, twigs to jump over and mud to tackle. True XC track!

Thank you to all the parents who drove their son/daughter to the event and came along to support the team. It is really great to come together as a community, and all enjoy the competition and the comradery of BNPS.

Congratulations to our 3 girls – Sophie and Maya and Lexie who all finished in the top 10 for their age group and will now go on to compete at the Regionals in Hastings on Wednesday 18th June. The BNPS community wish you all the best of luck at getting to the State level in running.
