🧡 Carlton Respects
Empowering Students Through Respectful Relationships
The Carlton Football Club is proud to continue its commitment to building a safer, more respectful community through the Carlton Respects initiative. This term, we’re thrilled to welcome AFLW star Harriet Cordner and program facilitator Georgia Rasch as they lead engaging workshops for students in Years 3 to 6.
Delivered in alignment with the Respectful Relationships curriculum, the Carlton Respects program focuses on four key areas that help students navigate the challenges of today’s world:
💬 Managing Your Emotions
Students explore the ever-changing nature of emotions and learn practical strategies to manage difficult feelings in healthy, constructive ways.
🚫 Bullying and Help-Seeking
Through interactive discussions, students learn to identify different forms of bullying and discover where and how to seek support when they or others need it.
👫 Being a Buddy and Stereotypes
This module encourages students to become active bystanders and challenges them to reflect on common gender stereotypes and their impact on individuals and communities.
💛 Values and Respect
Students gain a deeper understanding of personal values versus characteristics, the meaning of equality, and how to treat everyone with fairness and respect.
This free initiative is designed to support primary school students in developing the emotional intelligence, empathy, and confidence they need to thrive. Over the coming weeks and into Term 3, students will participate in a two-hour workshop that’s both educational and empowering.
Together, with role models like Harriet and Georgia, we’re helping shape a generation that values respect, inclusion, and kindness.
