Hands on Learning

In Hands on Learning on the 06/11/2025, four students went to Sydenham Park to work with park ranger Ben. 

He taught us how to make a cover for the saplings with metal sheets, cable ties and pegs to prevent animals from harming the fifteen small plants. 

The four students came back after the time was up and joined those who stayed back at the school who were working on their rocket models, the majority being completed including painting and now ready to test the rocket models very soon.

 We will start a new project next week.

Chanel and Nhu

In Hands on Learning on the 13/11/2025, seven students went out to Sydenham park and worked on some more tree guards and helped to save the white cedar. They also explored the area. 

Meanwhile back at school the students left behind were to work on their rocket models and start on the new project of bird houses. 

After the students from the park returned, they finished off their rocket model and began working on their bird houses, ready to resume next week.

In Hands on Learning on the 27/11/2025, students went to Bunnings and met Chantel who helped them build trinket boxes and then afterwards decorated them. 

After Bunnings they went across to Hungry Jacks and KFC to get lunch before returning to school so that they could finish their birdhouses and clean the area for next week.

Brodie and Nhu

In Hands on Learning on the 04/12/2025, we launched the rocket models, finished the birdhouses and some students created a coffin for a fish named Fredricka and held a funeral among themselves and then we celebrated the last day of HOL by having a spit roast of lamb and chicken, which we all collaborated on to make this happen. 

We all had a great time and enjoyed each others company and the food.
