Library News

Throughout 2025, the library has been buzzing with students and teachers enjoying our lively, welcoming, and—most importantly—safe learning space.

As the year draws to a close and stock take rolls around, we finished on a high note with plenty of fun and festive activities.

In mid-November, the library team celebrated the 85 students who successfully completed the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge (VPRC) with our annual pizza lunch and presentation ceremony.

We once again upheld our strong tradition of championing the VPRC, supporting all Year 7 students to take part, along with any interested students from Years 8, 9, and 10. Throughout the year, library staff, in conjunction with English teachers, actively contributed to our wider reading program, encouraging students to engage consistently and work towards completing the challenge.

We are incredibly proud of every student who achieved this milestone and enjoyed the educational benefits that come from regular, sustained reading.

Halloween has become a favourite time of year in the library, where we decorate, dress up, and celebrate all things spooky. Students enjoyed a week of activities, including a Kahoot, pumpkin-making craft session, and daily quiz questions.

Throughout the year, the library also welcomed a range of musical performances that showcased the talents of our instrumental music students.

Our final performance featured Ms. Lee’s String Ensemble, who played to a packed lunchtime audience in the library with a special Halloween-themed program.

Once again, the library team enjoyed decorating the space for Christmas, creatively upcycling old and withdrawn books.

In early December, we extended our festive celebrations by hosting a sing-along Christmas Carol performance led by singing teacher Demie Bagnato and our multitalented specialist technician and organist, Darren Grima.

A big thank you to both talented staff members for delivering such a joyful performance and helping us get into the Christmas spirit!

We wish everyone a safe, restful and enjoyable holiday break. As we look ahead to the start of 2026, we’re excited to welcome back our returning students and meet those joining us for the first time.

We hope you enjoy these photos from our recent library events and our book-themed Christmas decorations.
