ster Good afternoon families of OLSC
What a big fortnight we have had at OLSC! I congratulate each of our students on their participaition in Whole School Photo day on Monday and then being part of website photo shoot day on Tuesday last week.
It is also worth spotlighting the Year 3 and Year 5 students who have participated in NAPLAN over the last fortnight. These assessments are very different to what a standard school looks like and the students took this in their stride, tried their best and remained calm and positive.
Thank you and well done to the staff for their flexibility for the disruptions to the 'normal' school routines over the last fortnight.
This is important information for all families of a student in Yr 5. If you are planning on sending your child to MacKillop for secondary school please take note of the dates and times for applications and open day.

Following the Footsteps of St Paul.
Saint Paul is considered the greatest influencer after Jesus in the history of Christianity
and remains one of the more controversial figures celebrated for his work in spreading the early Christian message. Twenty Seven principals from the Western Region will be taking part in a 16 day pilgrimage that begins on the 26th March to Greece and Turkey. This pilgrimage aims to provide a profound and enriching experience for participants, by tracing the numerous journeys of St. Paul during his missionary journeys.
I hope the experience will help to bringing to life the scriptures stories and how we are called to be as Catholic in our world with the mission for the common good. I look forward to sharing more about this experience throughout Term 2. John Dini and Bec Tardrew will be in the Acting Principals role from 26th March - 22nd April 2025.
The Wizard of Oz school performance planned for later this year. The planning for this event is well underway and interested students from Yrs 3 to 6 will be invited to audition for the major roles. Jacq has been talking about this in performing arts classes this week and the excitement and momentum is building already!
On Tuesday Tserlin and Mark from Techinedu - School Presence were onsite to record videos and take photos for our new website. Both of the visitors commented on how remarkably well our students engaged in the photo shoot and how friendly the staff of our school were. We are all looking forward to launching the new website.
Monday 31st March - Religious Education Focus
Our Monday 31st March Closure Day is fast approaching. The staff will be undertaking a minor 'Pilgrimage' to the Mary MacKillop Centre in the city. This be be day focussed on Relgious Education and reflection.
Quantin Binnah will run outside of school care should there be enough interest. Please contact QB to register should you require this service.
The parish prayer for the new church is below. Please feel free to include this in your family prayers as a new church for the Manor Lakes community would be a great feature of our parish.
Tanmay and Tanishq who were part of the Mambourin Cricket Clubs' under 11s cricket grand final. The team won against Aintree CC on 9th March. Well done Tanisqh and Tanmay.
