Year 1/2 News
Learning Centre One
It has been a busy 2 weeks for the year 1/2s. We have had our school mass, school photo day and lots of learning activities to engage in.
Literacy
In Literacy, we have been learning about healthy foods that are good for us and what it does for our body. As part of it, one of the learning tasks was to make healthy fruit kebabs that were fun to make and eat. We also started learning about exercise and why it is important. As part of this we got to engage in a variety of sports that help our bodies stay active.
Maths
In Maths, we finished up with learning about Number by locating and ordering numbers in a sequential order and on a numberline. We also started on addition and subtraction, using concrete materials to partition numbers into two/ three parts to solve the problems. Some of the materials included; games, cubes and counters.
Religion
In Religion, we learnt about events in the catholic liturgical year and how it connected to our personal lives. As part of liturgical events in the church we also explored the Sacraments that we may have received and what they mean.
Inquiry
In Inquiry, we explored the importance of safety and what it means. We also learned about how to be safe at home, school and in the community.
We look forward to the last two weeks of Term 1 with more exciting learning experiences.
We ask if you haven't already to please sign the ICT user agreement so that your child is able to use ICT while at school. If you are unsure if you have done it, please check in with your child's learning group teacher. Please see link to complete.
Just a reminder about out Easter Hat Parade for the P-2 students on Wednesday April 2nd at 9am. Students are encouraged to make their hats at home as this isn't a school task, we appreciate your support.
