Konnichiwa from Japanese class! We have been so busy learning Hiragana for over two weeks. Grades one and two made Hiragana letters with playdough last week and pronounced all the letters they made. 

They also made a mobile phone with Japanese Kanji numbers, which they practised this week. They were so creative when they made anything in Japanese class. Very impressive. 

The foundation class also learned the first Hiragana letter あ this week, and they have been using playdough to make some shapes: maru (circle), sankaku (triangle), shikaku (Square), and hoshi (star).  They made Hiragana あ and pronounced it, and they have been enjoying using fine motor skills with playdough in Japanese lessons. 

Meanwhile, Grades 3 and 4 made their original iPad, and Grades 5 and 6 made a laptop each with a Hiragana chart. They are all displayed in the library, if you have any chance to come and have a look. We will use the Hiragana chart in every lesson to build their vocabulary. It will be hard to remember it all, but I am sure students will have fun learning Hiragana.  Some students made them a mouse and a keyboard just like their personal computer.
