News from Foundation

What a busy two weeks we have had in Foundation- our first two Full weeks at school (minus the public holiday!) The resilience and dedication they show in their learning have been incredible to witness, and we are so proud of them. Everything they have achieved so far this year! It is hard to believe that there are only two more weeks of Term to go!!!
Writing
The Foundation students have begun to understand and learn to read and write sentences. They have been using the sounds they know to write these short, decodable sentences. Here are some of our amazing sentences and pictures to match! You should hear us read them, too!
Religion
Last week in our Religion lessons, we were learning about Noah's Ark. The Foundation students learned that Noah had a specific role in helping the animals. We talked about how we can care for our land and keep it safe. Here are some pictures of the story.
This week in Religion, we have been learning about Saint Joseph as we celebrated St. Joseph's Day! Saint Joseph is the Pantron saint of workers. The Foundation discussed what it means to be a hard worker and be resilient. The Foundation students learned about Joseph and his special role in caring for Mary and Jesus. They discussed how they are caring, kind, and helpful, like Joseph. Here are our Saint Joseph crafts!
Connection
We are continuing to build new and different connections in the classroom through guided play. Here are some photos of the Foundation students building their social and imaginative skills through play.
