Term 2 was a massive time for service. Firstly, the Ride for Rosies charity event in which 70 enthusiastic riders took to Smith Park Velodrome on Friday 13 June. They completed hundreds of laps and raised $26,307 beating last year’s total of $23,000.

Lacee from Rosies’ Brisbane office delivered a trophy for the 4 years of fundraising Saints has done through Ride for Rosies. While our Saints community seeks to serve humbly, the Saints community should share in this acknowledgement.

This incredible effort by St Augustine’s and St Monica’s cyclists is a true reflection of digging deep and giving back to those less fortunate. This money will be put straight back into the Rosies charity within the Cairns community, helping with things such as meals, fuel for people' vans and essential items such as toothbrushes, blankets and clothes.

As the service captain at Saints, I am truly grateful for everyone’s dedication to this cause for the four year in a row. It’s been the best year of fundraising so far for this incredible charity, which is a true reflection of the Saints way.

Also, thank you to those students and staff that supported Rosies last term and over the holidays.

As well as this, our fundraising for the annual Relay for Life is in full swing. Fifty St Augustine’s students will be walking around Barlow Park on Sunday 3 August. So far we have raised $3,867 placing us 6th in Far North Queensland. Thank you and good luck to everyone participating.
