Intermediate Boys Soccer: Inner North Competition

The Intermediate Boys Soccer team recently represented the school at the Inner North competition, and it was a day that showed just how much this group has grown.

The boys have been training hard as part of our new Soccer Academy, and that work was clear to see on the day. While the rain poured and the wind blew, the team had to quickly adjust from the comfort of the gym and synthetic training surfaces to the heavy, boggy fields of Princes Park.

It took a few minutes to settle, but once they found their rhythm, the boys showed real determination, composure and teamwork. They controlled passages of play, communicated well with one another and continued to back themselves in difficult conditions.

There were moments of frustration, including a few questionable decisions, but what stood out most was the way the team responded. Rather than complain, they showed resilience, maturity and the ability to get on with the game. That attitude said a lot about the character of the group.

When the goals came, the boys made sure they enjoyed them too, including a memorable team celebration with the Macarena. It was a great reminder that school sport is about competing hard, representing the school with pride, and enjoying the experience together.

Well done to all students involved. The boys should be proud of the way they played, supported each other and represented the school throughout the day.
