Artists of the Week

This term, the College will continue celebrating the creativity, talent and dedication of our students across the Visual Arts through the Artist of the Week initiative.

Below is a summary of the incredible student artists who have been highlighted over the past few weeks, along with comments from their teachers about their work.

Week 1 – Ailish

As a part of Year 10 Digital Imaging, students have been exploring the manual settings on DSLR cameras. Students have been experimenting with shutter speed, ISO and aperture as well as composition techniques such as leading lines, framing and negative spacing. Well done Ailish 😊

Ms Buxton

Week 2 – Sebastian H, Year 10 Woodwork

Seb has shown great dedication and perseverance while designing and building his own octagonal coffee table. He has worked through challenges with a positive attitude and has even spent extra time during recess to keep his project moving forward. His commitment to the design process and craftsmanship has been outstanding.

Week 3 - 7C

Congratulations to Lyra, Lucy, An, Alisa, Emily, and June on creating and performing an outstanding self-devised performance for their recent drama CAT. The piece was wonderfully written and included a variety of theatrical styles, showcasing the students’ imagination, collaboration and commitment. Their performance demonstrated an excellent use of expressive skills, including voice, movement, gesture and facial expression. The students should be very proud of their hard work, focus and creativity throughout the process and on stage. A big round of applause to these fine performing artists from 7C!
