Year 7 Interschool Volleyball

On Thursday 23rd March, some of our Year 7 students represented the College in Interschool Volleyball.    Our Girls A team came second in their pool, achieving four wins for the day. The Girls B team won two games and drew one. Our boys team had a super successful day, remaining undefeated all the way to the grand final, where they unfortunately lost to Monbulk. A great effort boys, for making it so far!  All students demonstrated the College Values throughout the day and showed excellent sportsmanship. It was fantastic to see the level of support and encouragement they showed for one another.

Year 9/10 Interschool Soccer

On Tuesday 21st April, Year 9 and 10 boys went to Monbulk to face Lilydale High. All the other schools pulled out which made it just one 70 minute game, with ten players and no subs. We started off two down before equalsing the score. We ended up scoring another goal, putting us up one before they drew equal again. In the last few minutes of the game we almost scored, but we got caught out and conceded. We demonstrated the College Values on the day and had a hard fought game. Everyone worked hard and it showed, especially with having no subs. Gordon was supposed to play but got injured but still came and coached us;  a special thanks to Gordon and also to the teachers involved on the day.

Year 9/10 Interschool Football

On Tuesday 21st April, 18 boys from Year 9 and 10 went out and represented the school in Interschool Football. The event was hosted at Chirnside Park Oval, where we would play against several schools in the area, including Lilydale High, Upper Yarra, Monbulk and Emerald. We started with a game against Lilydale High. Unfortunately, they beat us by quite a lot. We then played Monbulk where once again we lost by a fair bit and our ruckman was injured during the game; luckily, we had another person who was willing to play ruck. In our third game against Emerald our backup ruckman also got injured but we had yet another player willing to play ruck. So, in the last game against Upper Yarra, we got our only win of the day, which was by quite a bit. We showed the College Values by using sportsmanship and teamwork. We would like to thank Mr. Boyce and Mr. Colaneri.
