Wonderful 1

One-derful Class Chronicles
Term 2 Week 6 2026 - Friday 29th May
What have we been up to?
Over the past fortnight, students explored non-fiction information reports and began creating their own. They used the structures and language features we learnt to organise facts clearly for the reader. Students focused on including headings, topic-specific vocabulary, and grouping information into sections. They also practised adding interesting facts and details to make their reports engaging and informative.
In Maths, students began our measurement unit. They explored length, mass, and capacity through a range of hands-on activities. Students learnt to compare, order, and measure objects using both informal and formal units. They also practised describing and explaining their thinking using mathematical language as they investigated measurement in everyday contexts.
In Science, students began a unit on materials and chemical reactions. They explored different materials and investigated how they can change when mixed, heated, or combined. Through a variety of hands-on experiments, students observed and recorded different reactions. They shared their findings using drawings, simple explanations, and scientific language.
