Our Vision

Each child has a gift or talent. It is our job to find it and to show it to them.

Our Mission

Identify the talent, develop the confidence and create the leader.

What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?

Dear Families,

It has been another vibrant and rewarding fortnight at Le Page Primary School, with our students continuing to shine across so many areas of school life. It is always a pleasure to witness the enthusiasm, creativity, resilience and leadership our students demonstrate each day. The positive energy around the school has been outstanding, and we are proud of the many opportunities our students are embracing to grow academically, socially and emotionally.

Our classrooms and specialist programs continue to provide rich learning experiences that inspire curiosity and engagement. Students have been actively involved in Literacy and Numeracy learning, inquiry investigations, well-being sessions, leadership opportunities and creative arts programs that support every child to achieve success. It has been wonderful to see students confidently applying the principles of The Leader in Me and Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits throughout the school environment.

Several events and programs have had a particularly positive impact on our students recently, including:

  • Student Lighthouse Team leadership initiatives and student voice opportunities
  • Respectful Relationships and Leader in Me lessons supporting wellbeing and emotional growth
  • Auslan learning experiences that continue to build inclusion and communication skills
  • Choir and Band rehearsals that foster teamwork, confidence and performance skills
  • Science learning activities that encourage innovation and problem solving
  • Intervention and extension programs supporting students at all levels of learning growth
  • Peaceful Classrooms and Social Skills programs strengthening student connectedness
  • Classroom goal-setting aligned to the 7 Habits, helping students take ownership of their learning
  • Sporting and physical education activities promoting teamwork, resilience and healthy lifestyles

These programs reflect our commitment to identifying the talent, developing the confidence and creating the leader in every student.

Student Attendance

Student attendance continues to be a major focus across the school, and we are very pleased to report that our Year-To-Date attendance figures have improved compared to the same period last year. Thank you to families for your ongoing support in ensuring students attend school every day possible. Regular attendance has a direct impact on academic achievement, wellbeing, social connection and confidence. Every day at school matters, and even small amounts of missed learning time can accumulate significantly across the year.

Arriving on Time

Equally important is students arriving at school on time each morning. Being punctual ensures students are ready for the daily routine muster, connected with their classmates and prepared for the first lesson of the day. The beginning of the morning sets the tone for successful learning, and arriving on time helps students feel settled, organised and ready to learn. We greatly appreciate families supporting strong morning routines and punctual arrivals.

Lost Property

A reminder also regarding lost property. Our lost property area continues to fill quickly with unnamed uniform items, lunch containers and water bottles. We ask families to please clearly label all belongings with your child’s name so items can be returned promptly. We encourage students and parents to regularly check the lost property area if belongings have gone missing.

Congratulations to Anna Ottersbach

We would also like to congratulate Anna Ottersbach and her husband Dave on the safe arrival of their beautiful first child, Sascha. This is such a special milestone, and we send our warmest congratulations and best wishes as they begin this exciting new chapter of parenthood together.

Welcome Back to Nick Duckett

A very warm welcome back also goes to Nick Duckett following family leave for the arrival and care of his second child. We are delighted to have Nick return to Le Page and reconnect with students and staff. At the same time, we sincerely thank Chloe Duff for the wonderful work she has done teaching 56A throughout the term. Chloe has done an outstanding job supporting students and ensuring continuity of learning and care during Nick’s leave.

Thank you once again to our wonderful staff, students and families for contributing to such a positive and inclusive school culture. Together, we continue to create a learning environment where every child is supported to thrive.

Farewell to Kayla Mugford

On behalf of the entire Le Page community, I would also like to extend a huge thank you and our very best wishes to Kayla Mugford, our Disabilities and Inclusion Leading Teacher, who will finish work next Friday in preparation for the birth of her second child. Kayla has made an extraordinary contribution to our school through her tireless dedication, expertise and advocacy for students and families. Her leadership within the D&I space has had a profound impact on student wellbeing, inclusion and learning growth across the school. Quite simply, her workload and expertise are very big shoes to fill. While the D&I program will continue under the support of the leadership team throughout Semester 2, we acknowledge that maintaining the same level of rigor, precision and expertise during her absence will certainly be challenging. We look forward to welcoming Kayla back in December and wish her and her family every happiness during this exciting time.

As Stephen Covey reminds us: Strength lies in differences, not in similarities.

Have a great weekend everyone.
