Science Talent Search
Each year the Science Talent Search (STS) celebrates the imagination and scientific thinking of Victorian primary and secondary students, offering opportunities to investigate, innovate, and showcase their work across a variety of topics and disciplines.
Celebrating 75 years of inspiring curiosity, innovation, and scientific thinking in students across Victoria, this year’s STS explores the theme Seeds of Science – Nurturing knowledge for all, encouraging students to see science as a living, evolving process. Just as seeds need the right conditions to grow, knowledge flourishes when it is nurtured, shared, and applied to real-world challenges. Students are invited to plant ideas, ask questions, and develop projects that demonstrate curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
Registrations opened in March. Years 3 to 6 students have had several invitations and opportunities to express their interest in participating in this year’s Science Talent Search. Registration for the 2026 STS closes on Sunday 24 May.
