‘Strive for Excellence’ at Greensborough College

As we reach the midpoint of the year, it’s a great time to reflect and refocus. Final assessments (CATs and SACs) are either underway or just around the corner. At the same time, you’ll soon be making important decisions about subject selections for next year. While this period can feel busy and even a little overwhelming, it is also full of opportunity.

Now is the moment to strive for excellence and doing your very best with the time and resources you have.

Finishing Strong in Your Final Assessments

Assessments are your chance to demonstrate how far you’ve come this year. Every assignment, test, or project is an opportunity to showcase your effort, growth, and understanding.

To make the most of this time:

  • Stay organised: Break your study into manageable sections and set realistic goals.
  • Prioritise your time: Focus on upcoming assessments and areas where you need the most improvement.
  • Ask for help: Your teachers are here to support you—don’t hesitate to reach out for clarification.
  • Maintain balance: Sleep, healthy eating, and short breaks can make a huge difference to your focus and performance.

Remember, excellence isn’t achieved overnight—it’s built through consistent effort, persistence, and a positive mindset.

Reflecting on Your Progress

Midyear is also a valuable opportunity to reflect on your journey so far. Take a moment to ask yourself:

  • What have I done well this year?
  • Where can I improve?
  • What strategies have helped me succeed?

As we move through this important time of the year, remember that every effort counts. Your dedication now will pay off in your results, your confidence, and your readiness for the opportunities ahead.

Strive to do your best, support each other, and take pride in your progress. The journey toward excellence is ongoing—and you are well on your way.  Keep focused, stay motivated, and finish strong!

Semester Exams

Our Semester Exams commence in Week 8. Students will receive exam timetables, revision in class and a SWOTVAC day on Tuesday 9th of June (study from home for the day). Students will receive a grade for each Exam in the Semester Reports. Please speak to subject teachers for further information and discuss any support needs in preparation for these exams.

Good luck to our Year 10 and 11 students preparing for Semester Exams and striving to achieve growth in their academic results.

Subject Expo and Futures Fair

Preparations are underway for our subject selection process, of which the Subject Expo/Futures Fair is the main event this year. We will issue subject preference timelines and subject handbooks by the end of this term.

The Subject EXPO and Futures Fair will be held in Term Three on Tuesday 21st of July. More information to come!
