A focus on College Interest sport
Term 3 2026 - Interest sport - Textiles
This term during Textiles Sport, Year 7 students have been developing their creativity, confidence and practical hand-sewing skills through the Felt Monster Project. Students began by designing their own unique monster characters, creating templates and selecting colourful felt and decorative features to bring their ideas to life. Throughout the project, students have been learning and practising important hand-sewing techniques, including blanket stitch and running stitch. They have been working on improving the consistency and neatness of their stitching, accurately cutting and joining felt pieces, and carefully adding facial features, patterns and embellishments to give each monster its own individual personality.
It has been fantastic to see the wide variety of beautiful, colourful and imaginative characters being created. Students have shown great enthusiasm and persistence as they work through the construction process, problem-solve and continue to develop greater independence in their practical skills.

PDSSSC Athletics Carnival
On Wednesday 2nd September, nineteen students represented the College at the PDSSSC Athletics Carnival at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre. The girls performed outstandingly well on the day, with many of them placing and also progressing on to PDSSSC representation for the upcoming NSWCCC carnival.
Well done to the following girls for representing the college with pride and a great attitude, and for giving their best efforts on the day: Layla Barker, Holly Bielby, Mikayla Blazek, Jemma Camilleri, Phoebe Clarke, Sam Danda, Talia Govender, Arden Hewitt, Sophie Ivanovic, Alyssa Johnson, Ruby Mason, Zara Okoye, Inara Prestridge, Zara Small, Bailey Smith, Annabelle Tran, Siena Vechio, Sarah Baker, Ruby Mason, Amber Stapleton, Ruby-Rose Steiner and Georgia Watson.
There were many great results on the day. The following were our highlights –
- Layla Barker - 12 years - 3rd in 400m.
- Mikayla Blazek - 16 years - 2nd in 100m, 3rd in 200m and 2nd in 400m.
- Phoebe Clarke - 12 years - 3rd in 200m
- Amber Stapleton - 17+ years - 1st in 100m and 2nd in long jump
- Annabelle Tran - 17+ years - 2nd in 200m
The 4x100m senior relay team was first - Amber Stapleton, Annabelle Tran, Mikayla Blazek and Sienna Vecchio.
Thank you to the parents and supporters who were at the carnival on the day. Your support and assistance was greatly appreciated.
Congratulations again to all of the students that represented the College, and good luck to the girls who are progressing to the next level. We look forward to hearing about your successes.
Congratulations to Annabelle Tran, Mikayla Blazek, Jemma Camilleri and Amber Stapleton who have been recently selected in the PDSSSC Athletics team. They will all represent the PDSSSC at the NSWCCC Championships at Homebush on 16 September. We wish them all the best.

There are many opportunities for school, PDSSSC and NSWCCC teams. Please ensure that you are aware of the registration deadlines as these dates are strictly enforced.
