From the Assistant Principals - Wellbeing and Learning

While our social media presence is an important way to share the life and experiences of our students and the College, the way we share images of students and teachers will change.  Unfortunately the prevalence of AI-generated deepfakes and other forms of misuse have changed the risk attached to our sharing of information and images.  Concerning is the fact that school websites and social media accounts are particularly and intentionally targeted as the source of images that are then altered and compromised.

Guided by the eSafety Commissioner and Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD), we will now adapt our approach to sharing images and information online. Photos will not be accompanied by any information that identifies our students and teachers, and the images themselves may not clearly reveal the students photographed.

By limiting the information we share, we aim to limit the loss of privacy for students and families, minimise the opportunity for harmful use of student images, and avoid critical incidents that arise from misuse of our College information.  Parents and families can assist such measures to protect our students by following the eCommissioner’s advice for parents and carers which is shown below.
