International Women's Day Breakfast
with special guest, past pupil, Eliza Rugg
On Friday 5 March, some members of the College community were up bright and early to gather for the International Women’s Day Breakfast held in the Mary Dalton Hall at the College.
With the theme ‘Choose to Challenge’, it was fitting that the College welcomed back past pupil, Eliza Rugg (Class of 2010), Journalist and Victorian Court Reporter at 9 News Melbourne.
Eliza delivered an inspirational speech touching on the challenges she faces as a female journalist and gave us insights into her incredible career to date. She reflected on her time at the College and the benefits of attending an all-girls school. “I didn’t have to be self-conscious about shooting for the stars, I could try out for everything!"
Eliza’s address, along with incredible student reflections, a solo pianist, the Senior Choir’s rendition of Helen Reddy's, “I am Woman” and a delicious breakfast, prepared by a great team of women, certainly left all guests feeling proud and ready to #choosetochallenge!
