Best Results Ever!

Class of 2020

Congratulations to the Class of 2020

Having endured a remarkable and challenging year, it was absolutely wonderful to see the amazing results achieved by all our Year 12 cohort in 2020. Every student is to be commended for the way in which they responded to the challenges, remained positive and supported and encouraged one another. They showed great resilience and determination and the College is extremely proud of each and every one of them.

Over 22% of our Year 12 VCE students achieved an Australian Tertiary Admissions Ranking (ATAR) of 90 or above, placing them in the top 10% of students in the state, while over 45% achieved an ATAR of 80 or above, placing them in the top 20% of students in the state.

Congratulations to our Dux for 2020, Zoe Withers who achieved an outstanding ATAR of 99.45 and our Dux Proxime, Marian Al-Reban, who also achieved an outstanding ATAR of 99.05.

Three students achieved perfect Study Scores of 50 in a subject; Kara Miwa-Dale (Year 11, 2020) in Psychology, Zoe Withers in English Language and Jessie Wyatt in English. Over 13% of all Study Scores were 40 or above (top 9% in the state) and the College Median Study Score was 33.

These exceptional results have placed Kilbreda College in the top 10 for 2020 VCE results for all Victorian Catholic Secondary Schools, a remarkable feat considering many of the schools placed higher than Kilbreda are the top Catholic Independent Schools in the state.

Our students are our greatest assets and we are extremely proud of the Class of 2020 and the young women they have become. With a 100% completion rate, our VCE and VCAL students showed outstanding resilience and commitment throughout the challenges of 2020 which has led them to achieving the best results the College has achieved in the VCE.

University Destinations and Fields of Study

Of the 2020 graduates who applied through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) and completed their assessments, 83% received an offer.  The remaining 17% have either accepted an offer of employment or are taking a GAP year.

The most popular destination for our VCE graduates was Monash University with 31% of students offered a place. Many students also gained places at RMIT (17%), Deakin University (12%), ACU (10%) and the University of Melbourne (8%). Other destinations accounted for the remaining 22%.

The most popular fields of study were Health and Society and Culture (both 20%), Natural and Physical Science (13%), Education, Management and Commerce and Information Technology (all 10%) and the Creative Arts (9%).

We wish this remarkable group of graduates well in their future endeavours and know that the Kilbreda College motto of Strength and Kindliness will continue to guide them on their journey through life. They have already achieved great things and provided much to Kilbreda College over their years and their contributions have strengthened our community.
