FREE INFORMATION SESSION
The Mallee Family Care Community Legal Centre is hosting a free workshop on how explicit sexual imagery influences the lives of young people. This workshop will be run by Maree Crabbe, Co-Producer and Co-Director of the documentary film Love and Sex in an Age of Pornography, broadcast on SBS in Australia and 35 other countries.
Maree has worked with young people – and on issues affecting them – for over 20 years. She coordinates the violence prevention project ‘Reality & Risk’, is the author of In the Picture (a secondary schools guide on addressing explicit imagery), and has written many articles dealing with young people and sexuality, which have been published both online and in print.
Pornography is a challenging topic, but it is one that we cannot afford to ignore.
This free after-hours information session is available for parents, carers, and other adults who have young family members.
Date: Wednesday August 17
Time: 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Venue: Chaffey Secondary College theatre
Cost: Free

FUTURE READY YOUTH
I am excited to let you know about an opportunity for young people aged 15–25 years to participate in ‘Future Ready Youth’, an ADAPT Youth Climate Network retreat being held on 17–19 September 2022.
What is Future Ready Youth?
The ADAPT Youth Climate Network, supported by ADAPT Loddon Mallee, have been working together to design ‘Future Ready Youth’, a two-day retreat that brings together young people across Loddon Mallee to explore climate change risks in their communities and design youth-led actions.
The event is an opportunity for young people in our region to:
- CONNECT with other likeminded young people
- INSPIRE and be inspired by people leading action in their communities
- CREATE a movement towards a climate-ready future through sharing, learning and action
When and where?
17-19 September 2022
DOXA Youth Camp Malmsbury
This is a FREE EVENT. All meals, accommodation, and materials are provided. We can also provide transport support for attendees who cannot make their way to the location.
We are committed to Future Ready Youth being an inclusive event and are happy to make accommodations to support young people’s participation.
We are particularly interested in attracting young people from First Nations communities, small towns, LSES communities, migrant communities or those who may not have been previously involved in engagement on climate change.
Young people find out more about the event by visiting:
- ADAPT's website for more information and to register interest.
- ADAPT's Facebook page to get updates
