Great news! The casual English Language classes are recommencing with Jacqui Adams on Monday 14th March from 9.30am to 11.30am in the Family Learning Centre (FLC). Everyone is welcome. Please ensure you sign in at the office prior to going to the FLC.
Following the Opening Mass on Tuesday, the students enjoyed a BBQ lunch at the oval. Feeding 960 students is no small feat, so particular thanks are extended to the maintenance, canteen and hospitality staff for the group effort.
Last Wednesday the school community had an Ash Wednesday service, which included the launching of Project Compassion for 2021.
Year 7s head off to Phillip Island for camp next Wednesday through to Friday. We wish them all the very best and hope they have a wonder-filled time.
Monday March 8th is the Labour Day holiday, leading into Week 6 of Term 1 and the Year 10 "Dare to Dream" week, the Year 11 Retreat in Beechworth and the Year 12 Retreat in Blampied. If you have any queries regarding these events, please contact your daughter's Homeroom teacher or SDL.
We will be acknowledging International Women's Day on Tuesday 9th March. This is a day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The various student committees will be organising activities on the day.
We wish our SCSA Swimming Team and coaches all of the very best for the inter-school competition on Wednesday 10th March.
This week we launched the annual Easter Raffle. I spoke to the students about the fact that many people and charities struggled through COVID lockdowns in 2020 and that our support in 2021 is probably the most required of all years. Each girl was given a book of ten tickets to sell and return to their Homeroom teacher by Thursday 25th March. Each girl was also asked to donate an Easter Egg and place it in the basket in their SDLs office.
Best wishes for the week ahead
