Opening School Mass

The Opening School Mass of 2021 was presided over by Father Brian and it was wonderful to have the whole school together again. 

Our Brigidine Provincial Sister Louise Cleary attended  and we sadly acknowledged  the loss of our stewardship council member, Gabrielle England, who passed away two weeks ago. Gabrielle was a wonderful supporter of Killester and Kildare Ministries and will be sadly missed. I know Sally found her to be a great mentor as a new Principal. We also mourned the loss of a much loved and respected staff member, Jo Pietsch. Jo was a graceful and humble staff member who leaves us with beautiful memories because of her gentle presence.

As usual, Father Brian carried these thoughts, along with a sense of celebration for the opening of the school year and a fresh start filled with hope and wonder. We unveiled our school theme of Wonder: Learn, Explore and Live and displayed our "Wonder Wall", which was magnificently decorated. Thanks must also go to the Performing Arts teachers and students who led our choir and dramatisation of the readings. Thank you to all concerned and let's hope that 2021 can bring with it new hope and opportunities for our community.
