Dear Killester Community

I wish to communicate to the wider Killester Community that we are launching a Professional Clothing Drive which will run for 2 weeks from Monday March 1st through until Friday March 12th. This Drive is to support a not for profit organisation called 'Dress for Success' which is located in Frankston. The Drive has been planned to coincide with the Year 10 'Dare to Dream' week which is scheduled from Tuesday March 9th through to Friday March 12. The Year 10's will engage in a multitude of activities that will support their Careers and Pathways knowledge and journey including:

  • 'Dress to Impress' collaborative task focusing on Professional Dress, interview techniques, personal branding and a pitch for a chosen role
  • RMIT presenting 'The Future of Work' seminar
  • 'Pathways in Focus' event with Killester Alumni
  • 'A Day in the life of Recruitment' workshop
  • 'Arrive and Thrive' future career planning seminar
  • Year 10 Work Experience Preparation including Safe@Work activities
  • Completion of the Morrisby Aptitude Survey which will assist students in planning for Year 11 and 12 subject selection
  • Visit from the President of 'Dress for Success' organisation discussing the importance of girls education and women's employment
  • Personal Development activities including a visit from the Dandenong City Council around 'Party Safe' as well as a visit from 'Batyr' which culminates in personal reflection.

Any pre-loved Professional Clothing which is no longer needed can be donated to our fabulous cause. Year 10's will be able to use the collection as a wardrobe resource for their 'Dress to Impress' task. After the task, ALL clothing will be donated to 'Dress for Success'. Drop off collection points for donations are at Main reception and at the Year 10 area located on the lower level of Kilmaire House. Please see further information regarding donation guidelines and details and ethos of the organisation, 'Dress for Success' on the below flyer. Thanking you in anticipation for your generosity.

Warm regards
