Year 12

Our Class of 2020 have had an event-filled two weeks as they finished their time here at Kilbreda. Today will be the final day of celebrations as they leave to study for upcoming exams, prepare for further study or join the workforce.

From Wednesday 14 October until Thursday 22 October, the girls had the opportunity to reunite with their original Year 7 classmates. Many reminisced about their antics and the fun they had whilst enjoying a delicious morning tea.

On Thursday 20 October, our Student Leaders were invited to breakfast, held in appreciation for all the work they had done throughout the year and their contribution to their role. Each leader received a commemorative certificate from Ms Nicole Mangelsdorf.

Thursday 22 October was the date for the Year 12 VCAL Showcase. Each of our VCAL students presented for five minutes on the journey of raising awareness about their chosen topic. The topics were varied and included meditation, nutritious cooking and endangered animals.

On this day also the beautiful spring sun shone on the annual Staff versus Students Volleyball Match. Once again, the staff proved to be too skilled, taking out both sets.

Our major Awards Assembly was held on 27 October via live Zoom. Congratulations to all the award recipients. Girls, you have all served your community throughout your time at Kilbreda whilst maintaining a high level of dedication to your school work. All award recipients can be found HERE.

Tuesday also saw the prerecording of each Year 12 student graduating. What a wonderful sight it was to see everyone presented with their graduation certificate and gift bag. This recording, together with the liturgy and various speeches, including that of our Co-Captains, Keely and Kate, will be watched and enjoyed by family and staff via Zoom tonight (Thursday 29 October) whilst enjoying a grazing platter that has been provided by the school (with $5 from each platter from the company 'Yum-Mammas' being donated to a Breast Cancer charity).

Prior to this, today they enjoyed their traditional last day breakfast dressed as their “future self”. It was a fun filled morning with much laughter and the odd tear.

Well done girls. You’ve made it! We look forward to seeing you back on site for exams.

Good Luck.
