Active Volunteers 

During the last month, the Year 12 VCAL students have been utilising their employability skills to plan, prepare and create new garden beds along the footpath in Mentone Parade. 

The girls are completing Certificate II in Active Volunteering and COVID-19 disrupted their opportunity to take part in various volunteering activities. 

Under the watchful eye of Ms Carole Downie, the students removed the old copper log edging and are replacing it with painted timber sleepers. The native flora has been trimmed and old plants removed. The students are aiming to improve the soil with some fertilizer, 'blood n bone' and mulch and will plant some beautiful new plants.

The project is progressing well and the girls should be proud of their efforts.
