Ms Tracy Sarroff's News
Students undertaking Units 1 and 3 VCE Art Creative Practice enjoyed attending the National Gallery Victoria, Ian Potter at Federation Square. We visited Top Arts, a showcase of outstanding student artworks from the 2022 VCE Art studies. During our visit, we viewed Top Arts student folios to gain an insight into the exhibitor’s art making process. Student folios contain extensive documentation, from initial concept ideation through to artwork completion. We learned about methods of organisation, documentation, and the communication of ideas. The visit extended to an educator talk with the Gallery’s informative Art Teachers to discuss diverse artworks in the exhibition ‘Melbourne Now’. This included large scale installations using light, sound, and movement. 'Melbourne Now' has taken over most of the gallery, expands across three levels, and focuses on the exhibition of emerging and established local artists.
The National Gallery of Victoria is free to the public with rotating exhibitions. The galleries are educational, inspirational and present thought-provoking ideas, entertainment and experiences to audiences. Students and families are encouraged to visit the NGV during weekends and/or the holiday period.

Visiting hours: 10am – 5pm every day except Christmas day
Thank you also to Ms Farrugia and Mr Langer for their wonderful contribution and supervision on the day.
