Junior School Report

Junior School News

All Year 7 and Year 8 students have had a very busy term consolidating Term 3 work and assessments. All students are currently completing their 2024 subject selections through Edval online and all parents and guardians have received communication through Compass. Thanks to all parents and families for your assistance with these.

Impact Classes

Impact classes have continued to be very enjoyable in Term 3, with many activities and topics discussed. All Year 8 students have completed their ‘My Career Portfolios’, revisited Zones of Regulation and Year 8s recently heard about the importance of Time Management strategies from Elevate Educate. All Year 7 & 8 students had their start of term assemblies in Week 3, which focused on positive recognition of student achievement throughout Semester 1.

Year 8 STEAM Days at Latrobe University

In week two this term all Year 8 students completed the LaTrobe University STEAM excursions. Students worked in groups through a range of Science activities and workshops presented by experts in their fields. Students enjoyed having the opportunity to use the University equipment and laboratories. Highlights included making their own shampoo and working with the Podiatrist from the Carlton Football Club. Massive thanks to Ms Lazarus for organising the two days and all the staff who attended and supported the students during their activities.

School Production – Shrek Jr

The Junior School are proud of all of the Year 7 & 8 students who are currently rehearsing and getting ready for our School Production, 'Shrek Jr'. All students have been working incredibly hard in all aspects of the Production and are looking forward to performing to ten primary schools during their matinee shows and three-night shows to families, staff and friends.

Interschool Sports

Congratulations to all students who have represented the school in Table Tennis and Basketball teams this term. There will also be 20 students across the school who will take part in the Northern Metro Region Athletics championships on August 30, at Epping. We wish them all the very best.

Thank you to Yr 7 & 8 students who have assisted Mr Todorovski in refereeing basketball and Futsal games for our Primary school Reservoir Cup. It has been great to see so many primary school students enjoying playing competitive games against each other in our gym. More importantly it has been fantastic to see our students showing exceptional leadership in umpiring each week. Well done to all involved.
