Catholic Youth Summit

Six Year 10 students attended the Catholic Youth Summit this week themed BE (the right) ATTITUDE. This was a great forum for students to network and learn how they can be a Catholic leader.

St Louis Day - 27 June 2019

Yesterday St Louis students celebrated their House Day at John XXIII College. We celebrated a paraliturgy in the Chapel reflecting on the life of our patron St Aloysius Gonzaga followed by a shared pizza lunch in the Hall. We also celebrated some of the outstanding contributions from St Louis students so far this year. Homeroom teachers were asked to put forward the names of students who had made an extra effort in respect to Homeroom time or House spirit.

The following students were awarded a St Louis award:

Year 7 Year 8   Year 9

Year 10         Year 11Year 12

Toby Muenchow

Eighteen students and two staff were also involved in cooking meals for The Shopfront after school. Lots of fun was had and hopefully the meals prove to be delicious. The celebration culminated today with a special focus at the Community Mass on Saint Aloysius Gonzaga and St Louis students were involved in the Mass.

It was a pleasure to see all students involved and enthusiastic in our House day celebration. A special mention must be made of the House staff and our various student leaders for their help in organising the day.

Careers and Enterprise

An innovative session, in designing and printing a personal name tag, was recently conducted by past student Tom Anderson-King for the Years 11 and 12 Career and Enterprise students. The final product, using the College’s 3D printers, were a testament to Tom and the students and the capabilities of technology in the world we live in.

Looking for generous families to host Italian exchange students from Italy

Thank you to the families who have generously offered to host one of our Italian students for two weeks in Term 3.

We still require another 10 families, so if your family is able to host a student from Italy from 27 August to 13 September, then please click the attached letter for further information and complete the Expression of Interest to Host Application Form and return it to monica.smokrovic@cewa.edu.au. We are especially in need of families who are able to host a male student.

The exchange students are from Perth’s sister city of Vasto and we have enjoyed the opportunity of hosting them for many years.

Please do not miss out on this invaluable opportunity for your family to experience another culture and for your family to share your culture with them.

Host Families needed for our Fujimi High School Students

Many thanks to the families that have so generously offered to host one of your young Japanese students for two weeks in Term 3.

We still require another six families, so if your family is able to host a female student from Japan from 28 July to the 10 August, then please do not hesitate to click this link for further information. Please complete the attached Host Family Application Form and return it to shane.glass@cewa.edu.au at your earliest convenience.

This has been a wonderful experience for many families in the past, so please consider having an overseas student to stay for just two weeks.

This will be our 21st exchange with Fujimi High School! The length of our relationship reflects the loyalty, strength and success of the program.
