Kororoit

Another house event, another win. So far this year Kororoit has gone two for two on major house events. Despite the rain, the Mighty Red Team ran away with yet another trophy with a strong, valiant effort from the whole house. Words cannot express how we, as a leadership team, are grateful to have an enthusiastic cohort of young men and women willing to step out of their comfort zone and try new things. On the horizon, another house competition arises; House Chorals. Boot Camp was an interesting and challenging experience for the leadership team as the vision of this year’s Chorals was planned out. The famed participation of Kororoit was once again shown in auditions.

More than 60 people auditioned for both the instrumental and vocal ensemble. As more and more rehearsals have gone by only one thing is certain: Kororoit is keen to put on a show and impress the adjudicators with our tight harmonies, flashy riffs and cheeky surprises up our sleeves. Will we win? Only time will tell.

Athletics was great as usual, we had fantastic numbers participate across lots of different events. The continuous relay was well supported and was organised expertly by Janath.  The Year 9’s had a great first athletics were especially impressive in the both the boys and girls relays. We were disappointed that we didn’t win but our house spirit was one of the best I have ever seen it. And we will take that energy into the House chorals campaign.

We let Kororoit win twice but chorals is ours for the taking. ROTHWELL ROTHWELL FIGHT!! FIGHT!! FIGHT!! A big congratulation to Jeffrey Ofoedu from 10R2 for making the Victorian state U/16 basketball team, he will compete on the Sunshine coast in the middle school holidays. Sean Gatt from 10R1 for making his 3rd Australian National Age Championships and to any other students who had any sporting achievement of the past weeks. It has been a busy term, with many different charity events taking place such as relay for life. The citizenship captains have been busy organising an rallying the troops for this. Most importantly we are continuing to build the house spirit and the connection students have to Rothwell.
