Academic Excellence

Tournament of Minds

Our Academic Excellence students have embarked on their latest project. The students are conducting a research project that strives to develop a technology-based solution to an existing challenge at St Norbert College. The students are working in teams to discuss any challenges and find any possible solutions to the challenges. I look forward to seeing what they come up with in a few weeks’ time.

Next Monday the Tournament of Minds teams will be treated to a morning tea to celebrate their fantastic results. The students will be awarded their certificates of participation. Certificates of Distinction & Honour will be handed out at a future College assembly.

City of Canning Walk-Shop

Earlier in the year a group of students attended a Neighbourhood Walk hosted by the City of Canning. We were recently invited to attend a follow-up walk around Maniana Park (the site of the future Soccer stadium) to give feedback on the City of Canning’s masterplan for creating a more vibrant Queens Park.

Today the students attended the Walk-Shop. Although appearing quite shy at the beginning, the students came bouncing back to the start line with a spring in their step and their heads full of fabulous ideas. The City of Canning staff were full of praise for the effort of the students. We will await the City’s final plans and see how many of the students’ ideas will come to fruition.

Thank you to the following students for their time and energy on the Walk-shop.

Isabelle Cayoun, Jonathan Le, Dave Dhall, Andre Flores, Jeswin Jiji, Josh Navarro, Kendrick Rivadenera and Katriel Rivadenera. And, thank you to Mr Harvey for joining us on the excursion.
