Dear Parents and Carers,

Mini Olympics

We had our first team session last Thursday and the students are very excited to be learning about their allocated country. We have many fabulous individual and team events planned for Friday 30th July. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions we can’t invite parents but we will take lots of photos and create videos to share with you via our newsletter.

Staff will be coordinating a special ‘surprise meal deal’ for lunch with food from various countries e.g. mini pies for Australia; mini hotdogs for America; Japanese fried rice and English muffins. Students will be able to select from a number of options on the day. Cost will be $6.00 per student.  Please pay by Qkr! by next Wednesday 28th July.

Kinder Enrolments

We are currently finalising enrolment numbers for our Kinder class for 2022 so that preparations for our transition program for Term 4 can take place. Please let your family and friends know that now is the time to complete forms. We are so fortunate to have a separate Kindergarten class with an amazing experienced teacher. Please spread the word.  Ring Kate Thompson and she will send an enrolment package and answer any questions you may have. We welcome Catholic and non Catholic children and our school fees are very reasonable...less than a cup of coffee a day!

Learning Focus - Writing

As a response to the disruptions to schools due to Covid, the NSW government has distributed funding to enable schools to provide small group tuition for an identified area of need. We are fortunate to be able to employ Mrs Wendy Rheinberger for additional time this semester, to provide extra support to students in the area of Writing.  We have chosen the focus area of writing because students are required to write in all Key Learning Areas. If students are confident and skillful writers, this will result in learning growth across all subjects. Be on the lookout for many amazing writing samples in our future newsletters!
