Neighbourhood Campus Leaders
We are pleased to introduce our Neighbourhood Leaders to the Greater Shepparton Secondary College community:
Julie Hannan - McGuire Campus
I have been at the McGuire Campus for many years teaching food studies, health & human development. Prior to this I taught in Melbourne, Perth and Indonesia. I am very excited to have a leading role in supporting the students as we begin our journey as the Greater Shepparton Secondary College. Julie Hannan
Susan Kerwin - McGuire Campus
Hello, I’m Susan Kerwin and I’m Neighbourhood 2 Leader at the McGuire Campus. I’ve worked at several schools, St Joseph’s College, Echuca (1993-2000), Kyabram Secondary College (2001-2009), McGuire College (2010-2017), and Wanganui Park Secondary College (2018-2019), and am pleased to return to McGuire this year. I enjoy changing schools and learning new things in different settings. I am an English teacher and am currently teaching 7N, and Year 11 & 12 English. I live in Shepparton and enjoy walking around our beautiful lake. I’m really looking forward to watching GSSC evolve and to being a part of the exciting change in secondary education in our area. Susan Kerwin, Neighbourhood 2 Leader, McGuire Campus
Tom Robinson - McGuire Campus
Hi, my name is Tom Robinson one of the Neighbourhood Leaders at GSSC – McGuire Campus. I am extremely excited about the beginning of GSSC and the amazing opportunity we have to provide a new and innovative education facility for Shepparton. I have been teaching for 16 years across 5 different schools, including a stint in Tasmania. My leadership roles have mostly been in student management and support and I have a strong philosophy around the strength of student-teacher relationships being at the core of education.
I am currently teaching Maths at Year 7 and 11. Tom Robinson, Neighbourhood 3 Leader, McGuire Campus
Lynn Bentley - Mooroopna Campus
I have many years of experience in both teaching and student management at schools in both Melbourne and Shepparton. I was based at the Mooroopna Campus last year and have remained there to work with 'Middle School' levels in 2020. My teaching methods put me in the Art/Technology areas where we are delivering some exciting new electives. I am also continuing with my passion of working with students in 'Student Leadership' positions at the Mooroopna Campus. Lynn Bentley, Neighbourhood 1 Leader, Mooroopna campus
Ben Murphy - Mooroopna Campus
Welcome student & families to Greater Shepparton Secondary College, this year I have the privilege of working with staff & students at the Mooroopna Campus. I have been at Shepparton High School since 2015 as both a Health & Physical Education Teacher and Team Leader. My interests include playing sport, I play cricket for Karramomus and I’m a horrendous golfer but still enjoy a hit. In the AFL, I barrack for the Geelong Cats and feel we are a red hot chance for a premiership. Personally, this year is going to be a big year for myself and my wife Paige as we welcome our firstborn child into the world in June.
Ben Murphy, Neighbourhood 3 Leader, Mooroopna Campus
Matthew Koutroubas - Mooroopna Campus
I’m Matt Koutroubas and I’m Neighbourhood 1 Leader at the Mooroopna Campus. I have come from McGuire College where I have worked for the previous 3 years, mainly as the Senior School Leader. I also spent a short period of 2019 working at Shepparton High School as an Acting Assistant Principal. It’s exciting to be Neighbourhood Leader at the Mooroopna Campus. When I’m not at school I enjoy spending time with my partner and three boys. I’m a passionate fan of the Western Bulldogs and also enjoy Cricket, fishing and going to the beach. I look forward to working with you this year and beyond. Matt Koutroubas
Alison Smith - Wanganui Campus
I’m Alison Smith and I came to Shepparton to teach almost 30 years ago. In my teaching role I love being in the classroom teaching Literature and English. I have also spent half my Shepparton years at what is now the Wanganui Campus, working with Shepparton kids as Chisholm House Leader. Now, as Neighbourhood 1 Leader, I will be able to continue helping students at all levels to develop into their best selves and to find school and post-school pathways that allow them to explore the world. Out of school you may spot me walking my very enthusiastic, slightly anxious, yellow Labrador early in the mornings. Alison Smith, Neighbourhood 1 Leader (Sem 1), Wanganui Campus
Zarina Fleming - Wanganui Campus
Hi! My name is Zarina Fleming and I am Neighbourhood 2 leader at the Wanganui campus. I teach Yr 11 and Year 12 Legal Studies, as well as Yr 8 Riot, rampage and reform (Civics). I'm very much looking forward to supporting our students in their learning journey throughout the year. Zarina Fleming, Neighbourhood 2 Leader, Wanganui Campus
Cate Eddy - Wanganui Campus
My name is Cate Eddy and I am the Neighbourhood 3 Leader. Houses Green, Yellow and Blue make up the Neighbourhood. I have been at Wanganui Secondary College since 1992 so the changes this year have been quite significant for me! I teach physical education at senior and junior levels and have enjoyed the opportunities this gives me to work with students out of the classroom. I have also been involved in coaching in the community and appreciate the opportunity this has given me to meet families outside of the school environment. I look forward to working with my neighbourhood team to help develop a sense of identity for our students with their school, neighbourhood and house. Cate Eddy, Neighbourhood 3 Leader, Wanganui Campus
