From the Executive Principal

Welcome to Greater Shepparton Secondary College. We are delighted to have your family with us. We’re off to a smooth start to the year with students looking fabulous in their new uniforms. For those who have some items still to purchase, the next shipment should be in the uniform shops in the next couple of weeks. We’ll let you know when they arrive. Thank you for your patience.

Over the past week I have visited each campus and was pleased to see students hard at work and settling in to their new environments. The students in the Year 7 classrooms I visited yesterday all had their AVID binders, which they’d set up with their teachers in the first few days. I asked them how they liked them and everyone told me they really helped them to be organised and to have the right equipment with them in class when they needed it.

We began the year with an assembly at each campus where I spoke to the students about our school vision and values. Many of you were part of the consultations I conducted last year and it is from these contributions that, together with staff and student input, we developed our values.

The teachers and I will be further discussing the values with students to broaden their understanding of our expectations. These will help students to do their best work and to achieve success in their studies.
