Year 11 Dinner Dance

Committee report

A night to shine

After a long and tough year, the Dinner Dance definitely lifted the weight off our shoulders and was an event in which everyone could have fun and enjoy each other’s company. The year group was bought together, dressed in their finest and living out the best moments with each other. Highlights of the evening included the dance display, dance competitions and free dancing where students could show off their moves, and grow closer with one another. These memorable moments will no doubt be looked back on and will continue as one of the best events throughout our time in high school.

The memories made at the dinner will be memories that we will talk about and laugh over for a long time. It was well organised and worked as a well-earned celebration at end of the term for a lot of hard-working students. It was great fun celebrating Elijah Edmond’s birthday and participating in the dance competitions on the night. The food was another highlight of the evening, which everyone seemed to enjoy. The potato being the best, in my opinion – Ayden Ratnasekera).

It was a blissful experience that we all will reminisce on after we graduate. It was a time where everyone could forget about school, and celebrate their hard-work throughout the year. Seeing everyone dance their hearts out, and create new found-memories was a great accomplishment for the DanceCommittee.

The dinner dance was an awesome turnout and was a very lively night. The Photo Booth was another of the highlights for the night as everyone got to take fun pictures with their friends. It was so lovely to see our year group coming as one to enjoy the fun-filled night full of laughing and dancing. Overall, the night was great because of all the fun we had dancing and being with each other.

Special mentions to Mrs Villarosa for using her magic on us and having a great amount of patience while dealing with us during the dance lessons; Cassie Best (Year 10) and her partner for wowing us with the incredible dance displays and to Mrs Silva for the organisation of the event which turned out to be a perfect night.
