Founders graduate

In May 2018, 15 Year 9 students participated in the Australian Youth Climate Change Climate Justice Summit. Over two days, students learnt about climate science, climate change impacts and how they can lead solutions in their school. This inspired the students to create their own Sustainability Committee, the Climate Canons. The student let sustainability committee was a first for St Norbert College and in three years the committee has grown to 48 student members from Year 7 to 12.

Our founding members graduated last week and the Climate Canons would like to take a moment to say THANK YOU for your dedication and acknowledge your courage and drive to pursue a movement that you are passionate about. You have been the founding members of a committee that has positively changed the culture of St Norbert College and we are all truly thankful for your commitment. We wish you all the very best in your future endeavours and hope you keep fighting the good fight for climate justice.

Thank you Nellie Bond, Paul Fuentes, Juphil Jiji, Alice O’Malley, Isioma Onyemgba, Zeta Stevens, our OG members and to Oliver Kang and Ali Tkacz for joining not long after.

Humanities and Social Sciences

Remembrance Day falls on the 11 November each year. On the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, a minutes’ silence is observed and dedicated to those soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation.

Each year, the St Norbert College Community erects a memorial wall honouring all those who have sacrificed in the face of war. We acknowledge Australia and New Zealand’s involvement and we also would like to take the opportunity to honour other countries, wars and people.

If you would like your family member to be placed on our memorial wall, please contact Miss Danielle Pisconeri (dpisconeri@norbert.wa.edu.au) with their name, any details you are willing to share with us and a copy of an image of your family member by Monday 8 November. Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Miss Pisconeri.
