Student Achievements

Luc Evans

Luc is a Year 8 student with six years’ experience playing indoor and outdoor futsal and soccer.  Through his local teams Oakleigh Cannons and Bayside Pirates he has developed his talent of goal keeping. He trains four times a week and plays two games weekly.

Last year, Luc tried out and was selected for the Victorian State team to play interstate soccer in New Zealand. Luke’s team was placed in the higher standard Group A in the Under 15’s competition.

Luc’s favourite game was the first one when down 5-1 at half time and they came back to achieve a 6-6 draw.

Luc thought it was a fun way to get more experience, meet coaches and even learnt the ‘split-save’ move to stop opponents scoring. He hopes to take his soccer as far as possible. Congratulations Luc!

Nicholas Tsiakos

On September 27th 2016 my soccer team, Bentleigh Greens are flying to Malaysia to represent Australia in a soccer tournament.

We will play against other countries in the competition including: China, Japan and Malaysia. We will be playing a round robin competition. We are there for 7 days and  we play 2 games for 6 days and the last day is to relax and explore the island as we are given an island tour.

In my opinion we will have a great chance in the cup as we are one of the best teams in Victoria. We will be playing in real stadiums so we can experience the feel of the cup.

We have been doing fundraising for about a month. We had to fundraise $30,000 which we have successfully completed by running chocolate drives, raffles and a disco that we hosted at our club.

James Medland

Black Swan Prize for Portraiture Australia

Congratulations to James Medland Year 9 for winning 3rd place in the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture. James was one of seven finalists in his age division. 

The 2016 Black Swan Prize for Portraiture Youth Award provides young artists across Australia with an opportunity to showcase their creative talents and to challenge them from an artistic perspective through the complex field of portraiture.
