First Nations Google Classroom up and running.

Supporting Koorie Students at Staughton Secondary College

Staughton College is pleased to announce our Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander, First Nations Google Classroom Page.   This learning platform makes it easy for students and teachers to connect to Aboriginal culture, events, promotions and learning resources.   Most importantly, for our Aboriginal students it is a great way to engage respectfully and feel connected to their Aboriginal identity. For our teachers, it is a great way to incorporate Aboriginal culture into the classroom.   

The Google Classroom is a culturally safe place in which teachers and students can build respect for the histories of the First Nations peoples and a genuine understanding of the land we live on.

This virtual classroom builds on Staughton efforts to include Aboriginal connections in our Sports Houses and cultural relevance projects.  It supports the Department of Education, Marrung Aboriginal Education plan.
