Year 7 Big Day Out – Gumbuya World

To celebrate the end of Term 1 and to help our Year 7 students to continue to build connections with their teachers and peers as they transition to Secondary School, we held our inaugural Year 7 Big Day Out on Wednesday 31 March. More than 150 eager Year 7 students boarded the buses bright and early, ready for a day of fun and adventure.

The weather was sunny and perfect. Students delighted in meeting, petting and feeding animals of all sorts, including koalas, baby goats, kangaroos, chickens, peacocks and lizards. Many squeals of joy could be heard coming from the various adventure rides throughout the morning, including the giant tree swing and the roller coaster. And after a picnic lunch in the sun, students were thrilled by the wave pool, the incredible water slides and the lazy river.

It was wonderful to see our students happy and having so much fun together. Smiles were everywhere. Many teachers commented that they were impressed with the beautiful manners of all our students and the impressive way that they conducted themselves as proud representatives of Cranbourne Secondary College. It really was a great Big Day Out!
