Fire Pits and fundraising for GV Hospice Care

This year Grant Meadows helped to raise funds for GV Hospice Care by getting a team of students make and sell custom made fire pits.

Grant mentioned that this project was a very personal one for him. "My reasoning for this project is because of my Dad, who got his wish to die at home. GV Hospice Care were amazing with what they did for my Dad and our family. It came to my attention that the GV Hospice Care are poorly funded, despite the caring work they contribute to our community. It was because of GV Hospice’s efforts that I suggested to my peers that we should fund raise to donate much needed funds to this great organisation. My Dad was given so much support in his last few months before he passed away due to cancer."

Our fire pit team includes, Grant Meadows, Brendan Meadows, David Ryan, Kajani Sivakumar, Codi Fullarton, Patrick Hodgson, Taylah Cavanagh, Steven Mark and a few other students in our class that have worked most of the year on the 'Fire Pit Project.'

The profits raised from this project are being donated to GV Hospice Care. Every custom made fire pit that we made, we donated $20 / pit. We have donated more than $500 since we started making these pits at the end of 2017 along with the 2018 school year.

We want to thank two of our sponsors, GV Hydraulink for donating the empty 200 litre hydraulic fluid drums and Lift ‘n Shift for donating the heavy duty steel mesh that we cut to use in the base of the fire pits. We have many fire pits ready for sale fitted with these rings, celebrating your club’s premierships. We have some ready to go and they include:
