YEAR 11 CAMP
The Yr 11 Outdoor & Environmental Studies class had their first camp last week at the Cathedral Ranges in North Central Victoria. They participated in activities such as Rock Climbing, Abseiling and Bush walking while exploring theoretical content onsite. A lucky group of students even got to experience multi pitch climbing, scaling the entire cliff face in one go, having lunch out on the cliff face. Students are very much looking forward to their next camp!
SENIOR BOYS SOCCER
John Fawkner College Senior Boys progress through to the SSV Premier league senior boys final
The John Fawkner College senior boys have made it through to the SSV premier league Grand Final. After topping the group including Maribyrnong Secondary College, the boys defeated Keilor Downs in a tough battle that went all the way to a penalty shootout in which Lawrence Caruso emerged as the hero on the day.
We will face Maribyrnong College on Thursday the 1st of April at 1pm at Darebin International Sports Centre. As this is a student free day, we encourage any students to come down to the game and support our senior boys’ team to win their first SSV premier League trophy. Having narrowly missed out in the Grand Final on two previous occasions, there is a real belief growing amongst the boys that 2021 is the year they can finally go all the way and bring the trophy back to John Fawkner.
The final will be a replay of a tough contested group game against Maribyrnong college after our senior boys were reduced to ten men in the 50th minute mark. Being 1-0 down at this stage the boys showed real courage and unity to fight their way back to 2-1 and eventually emerge as winners and top the group.
