Drama, Dance and Music
Welcome back to our performing arts page, this space continues to be a hive of activity and students are thriving in their learning and understanding of the concepts and skills that go along with these subject areas.
In our Music classrooms we have started working with Luis Poblete, our Year 7 & 8 students have taken part in their first drumming workshops. The students have been thoroughly engaged and Luis has been impressed with the level of engagement and skill set that our students are bringing to the drum circles. Also in our classes our Year 8 students have been able to master their skills on the keyboard and been successful in learning a piece of music and performing to the class. Our instrumental program also continues to develop with students now having access to an instrument to take home to practice on and this in turn is benefiting their progress in the classes with Dan. Keep up the great work fellow musos!
Our Drama spaces have also been buzzing with students who are continuing to learn about the dramatic elements and use them in creating scenes which they have then performed to the class. These students have also been able to work respectfully in their groups and learn important listening skills which in turn has made the final performances great quality and students continue to have a feeling of success. We have been impressed with how our students are developing their confidence in this space.
Our Dance classes also continue to evolve with students learning about different styles of dance and also beginning to prepare for their performance at the event GALA which is taking place on the 17th of June. We are very much looking forward to seeing the final product!
Have a great term break and we look forward to seeing you back in the performing arts spaces in Term 2!
